Updated 8th December 2008:

Special Christmas Offer: Talking Dictionary $9.95
Talking Dictionary’s usual price is $39.95. As a special Christmas gift to all our visitors we’re now offering it for $9.95. This price includes sending and handling. Take advantage of this offer while it lasts. Don’t forget - you get three free full version software products with the CD version of Talking Dictionary! Talking Event Scheduler, Talking Maze Game and Talking Calculator. These products are all full unlimited versions and all 100% free.

For quite some time we’ve struggled with the notion of what we could offer this year round. We all agreed that we couldn’t match our best every promotion of several Christmases ago, when we gave Talking Dictionary away for free during the festive season. However, $9.95 is a pretty good price and still allows us to cover the cost of postage, packaging, coffee and maybe a little bit of Christmas cheer.

Please spread the word about this special offer.

Update: News is spreading about this offer and we’ll probably keep the promotion going into March 2009 to make sure everyone can take advantage of the offer.

Feliz Navidad!

Will Comet Ever Learn? Will I Ever Learn?
We ordered a new tall freezer to help us out over Christmas. Also, because we had the room for it. Trouble is that the space is very tight and without the door of the freezer positioned a certain way we’d not be able to use it. I asked no less than four customer service representatives before placing the order. Each person told me that the delivery people would happily reposition the door of the freezer if necessary. I think you can guess what happened next.

The annoying thing for me here is that, as I said to Comet, I feel their customer care people would say anything to get the sale. Its a terrible attitude for a business to have and one we certainly do not share. We’ll never be doing business with Comet again. My wife reminded me that I said that five years previously after the same delivery guys dumped a new cooker in the middle of the kitchen, refusing even unwrap it. But this time I think I’ve learned my lesson.

We never ended up getting the freezer in the end. We liked the extra space we had after clearing room for it and we realised that there is about three months worth of food in our existing small freezer. So now we just have to set about eating it. But this is the best time of the year for eating...
